Summary : ⁣With the growing demand for alternative energy (especially plant biomass) and to avoid competition with traditional food crops, part of the less-favored areas may be used for energy crops. LAMMC Vėžaičiai branch (Lithuania) has been conducting research on 2 perennial fast-growing plant species (herbaceous and woody) in the acidic whitish soils (pH 4.2-4.4) of Western Lithuania since 2009 and 2014. The effect of liming (to adjust the optimal soil pH level) and nitrogen fertilizers on biomass growth was investigated. The increase in dry weight of cocksfoot (Dactylis glomerata L.), reed canary grass (Phalaris arundinacea L.) and common osier (Salix viminalis L.) was directly related to nitrogen fertilization alone. Liming and fertilization with nitrogen fertilizers and their interaction had a positive effect on the productivity of the following plants: black poplars (Populus nigra L.), cup plact (Silphium perfoliatum L.), virginia mallow (Sida hermaphrodita Rusby). Except for virginia mallow, the effect of liming on other plants is more pronounced only in the first few years of plant growth. However, primary soil liming had a positive effect on soil chemical parameters (especially humus growth) and microbiological activity.

Summary :
⁣Accumulation of plastic products in the Environment that adversely affects wildlife, habitat of humans is a major concern for the government at present. As plastic is non-biodegradable in nature, it remain in environment for several years. As a result it is responsible for causing land, air and water pollution. Plastic pollution has been constantly damaging our sustainable environment. The production of plastic is increasing since 1950, 8.3 billion tones of plastic has been produced, which is likely to be double by 2050. The burning of plastic waste increase the risk of heart disease, damages the nervous system, respiratory ailments such as asthma and cause nausea or headaches. Hence, a sustainable step towards tomorrow’s greener and healthier environment needs immediate attention of the environmental scientists. Most of the environmental tools of plastics like cell phones, computers, helmets and hospital bags have molded society in many ways that make life both easier and safer. Plastic produced every year is used to make for single use, disposable packaging items or products when they are thrown out which damage the green environment. It is due to lack of self discipline and not worrying about future generations, selfish attitude and consumerist human has damaged the environment. It is the responsibility of educational institutions to sensitize and create public awareness. In addition to creating public awareness on the importance of a clean and healthy environment, plastic recycling facilities must be recommended. This invited talk will help the society to reduce their exposures to plastics and ensure the increase of healthy society with clean environment for the next future generations.

Summary :
⁣In perovskite solar cells, the inverted device structure has the potential for faster commercialization due to its less complicated processing path when compared to the conventional planar structure solar cell. However, multi-cation perovskite crystallization on the PEDOT:PSS, the hole transport material, results in large domains with several deft and grain boundaries. These defects formed on the perovskite surface result in non-radiative recombination and limit the device’s performance. Incorporating surface passivation of the perovskite layer through the introduction of large cation is a feasible route to reduce defects and improve charge carrier extraction. This work reports on an inverted solar cell that uses a Csx(FAyMA1-y)Pb(IzBr1-z) perovskite on a PEDOT:PSS surface. The GUI layer results in the passivation of the perovskite and curbs the amount of non-radiative recombination. The beneficial aspects of the passivation include an increase in open-circuit voltages from 0.89 V to over 0.96 V and high efficiency of 16.03% for a GUAI device when compared to 12.92% for the control device. The presence of the GAUI layer improves the stability when compared to the control device by over 600 hours of storage in ambient conditions.

Summary :
⁣Doxorubicin is an anthracycline antibiotic used as an anticancer agent. Longterm use of this anticancer agent could accumulate its metabolite, doxorubicinol, and cause cardiomyopathy, due to its cardiotoxicity. This cardiotoxic effect depends on the amount of doxorubicin and doxorubicinol accumulated in the body. This study aimed to analyze doxorubicin and doxorubicinol levels in the blood plasma of breast cancer patients. Methods: Participants of this study were 30 breast cancer patients who had received doxorubicin in their therapy regimen. The samples were analyzed using ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS), with the Acquity UPLC BEH C18 Waters chromatography column (2.1 x 100 mm : 1.7 μm). Plasma (250 μL) samples were prepared by protein precipitation, using methanol. The mobile phase consisted of 0.1% acetic acid (eluent A) and acetonitrile (eluent B), with gradient elution; the flow rate was 0.15 mL/min and runtime, 7 min.

Summary :
⁣Copper oxide (CuO) loaded titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanotube photocatalyst was synthesised using the facile hydrothermal method. The synthesised photocatalyst were characterised by X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning microscopy (FESEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) to study their physiochemical properties. The photocatalytic activity of the photocatalysts was tested for carbon dioxide (CO2) photoconversion and methyl orange degrdadation. CuO loaded TiO2 nanotube demonstrated higher CO2 conversion (100%) and methyl orange degradation because of the former’s effective separation of photogenerated electron-hole pairs in the presence of CuO.

He has been awarded Who’s Who in the World for 3 years in a row 2013, 2014 and 2015 by The Marquis Who’s Who Publications Board. In 2014, the Cambridge Biographical Centre listed him as one of 2000 Outstanding Intellectuals of the 21st Century, due its ability to produce nanomaterials with tremendous improvement compared to conventional commercial materials. Summary :
⁣Corrosion is considered to be major challenge faced by oil and gas industry which becomes more disastrous in heavy operating conditions. In this research, zirconia nanoparticles were incorporated in NiP matrix to study the effect of concentration of ZrO2 particles in the NiP-ZrO2 nanocomposite coatings. Low alloy steel was used as the substrate and pulse electrodeposition technique was utilized owing to its advantages over other deposition methods. Co-electrodeposition of various concentrations of zirconia nanoparticles (0.0, 0.25, 0.50, 0.75, and 1.0 g/L) was carried out in the optimized chemical bath. Numerous techniques were adopted to evaluate the structural, morphological, mechanical and electrochemical properties of nanocomposite coating. SEM and EDS results prove the successful reinforcement of zirconia nanoparticles in NiP matrix. XRD and XPS analysis validates the structural formation of pure phase of NiP without any evident defect. An appreciable enhancement in the mechanical properties was noticed with an increase in the amount of zirconia nanoparticles. Likewise, EIS analysis confirms a gradual increase in corrosion protection behavior of the NiP-ZrO2 nanocomposite coatings with increasing zirconia concentration. The decent mechanical and corrosion resistance properties of NiP-ZrO2 nanocomposite coatings provide an exciting option for their suitability in numerous applications.

Summary :
⁣Rapid manufacturing on space/air/sea/land missions, where either gravitational force is missing or severe random disturbance may present continuously, is highly in demand. However, till today, there is no reliable technique for such working environments. The purpose of this study is to develop a technology for rapid 3D printing in solid state of polymeric materials to get rid of the problems in harsh working environment. The basic concept is to cross-link by either UV-light or photo-induced-heat of polymeric materials in the solid state for rapid volumetric additive manufacturing. The uncross-linked parts can be removed by heating or cooling for melting, or washing away by solvent. Finally, the shape memory effect (SME) of the cross-linked polymers is applied to ensure high accuracy of the printed items. We have successfully demonstrated this concept using thermal gel, UV cross-linkable vitrimer and other conventional materials.

Summary :
⁣This cross-sectional, web-based study included Saudi adult patients with T1DM who attended at least one virtual phone visit with the diabetes clinic at King Abdulaziz Medical City, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, between August 1 and December 31, 2020. Patients anonymously answered a Google form- created Arabic questionnaire. Information about patient characteristics, outcome, and perception of the virtual phone visit were obtained. Data were presented using descriptive statistics, chi-square, one- way ANOVA, independent t-, and Welch’s t-tests.

Summary :
⁣This review aimed to assess the effect of dietary fiber on short-term and long-term glycemic control and insulin responses in T2DM patients. Five electronic databases were searched for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) published in English and investigating one primary outcome—glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c), and six secondary outcomes—fasting blood glucose (FBG), fasting insulin, Homeostatic Model Assessment for Insulin Resistance (HOMA-IR), two-hour postprandial glucose, two-hour postprandial insulin, and body mass index (BMI) through March 23, 2021. Of 3266 identified studies, 22 eligible RCTs comprising 911 participants with T2MD were included. Among them, 16 studies used soluble fiber and the rest used fiber from natural foods. Subgroup analysis demonstrated that soluble fiber was more efficient in controlling HbA1c and FBG than fiber from natural foods. Compared with the control, dietary fiber at a median dose of 10 g/day for a median intervention duration of 8 weeks significantly reduced HbA1c, FBG, fasting insulin, and HOMA-IR. In conclusion, both soluble fiber products and fiber from natural foods are effective in improving glycemic control and insulin sensitivity in T2MD patients, the former yielding better effects. However, due to most of the evidence from rather short-term trials and the detected significant between-study heterogeneity, further long-term and high-quality RCTs are needed.

Summary :
⁣Extravasation is a major problem especially among the pediatric population. Extravasation is defined as infiltration or leakage of an intravenous chemotherapeutic agent into the surrounding tissue which results in local damage.The various types of extravasation causing agents can be Sclerosing,fibrosing agents.Drugs that can cause blisters,ulceration, severe tissue destruction & necrosis. Eg.. Vincristine.or drugs that can cause burning and inflammation.eg.. Dacarbazine. Usually cause extravasation. Two major mechanisms are believed to cause tissue damage,DNA binding vesicant agents (e.g., anthracyclines) Absorbed by local cells in the tissue and bind to DNA,causing cell death.Non DNA binding vesicant agents (e.g., vinca alkaloids)These agents do not bind to cellular DNA.Local tissue damage is more easily neutralized than damage to surrounding tissues. Pediatric nurses play a major role in preventing extravasations occurring and also managing the extravasations on time to prevent complications which even can be fatal.The aim of this presentation is to high light the role of nurses in preventing and managing extravasations in the hospital.

Summary :
⁣A large number of genetically determined diseases have phenotypic manifestations in the form a large number of small anomalies of development, resistant, convulsive syndrome, psychomotor developmental delay syndrome, which can be used in the diagnosis of these diseases, starting from neonatal period. In order to carefully analyze the phenotype was used a specially designed scale - the scale of phenotype analysis (SAF) The use of this scale for additional examination of a newborn made it possible to suspect, and subsequently verify genetically determined diseases in 20% of the examined children. Comprehensive phenotype research can be used to optimize the diagnosis of genetically determined diseases. Careful study of the phenotype allows to diagnose genetically determined conditions, starting from the newborn period. The use of a phenotype assessment scale is available a fairly simple, inexpensive method of diagnosis that does not require additional equipment and special training.

Summary :
⁣Expand the testing of sensorimotor influences on infant speech perception to a novel phoneme contrast and beyond segmental phonology, including prosodic distinctions (> perception of word stress and intonation contrasts); Offer the first study on whether infants spontaneously move their tongue when listening to speech; Measure the relation between later language outcomes and the impact of sensorimotor influences on early speech perception; Design and test a pacifiershaped device that may be amply used in clinical populations to improve oral morphology, and that is validated from the auditory-motor perspective as not restricting perceptual abilities; Assess the benefits of the device both for oral morphology and language development through a longitudinal intervention study with infants with Down Syndrome. A series of studies of sensorimotor influences in typically developing 6- montholds. Combining cross-sectional and longitudinal designs, experimental online measures of auditory processing, tongue shape/movement, parental reports, and language assessment tools, and a longitudinal intervention study. The project will be presented in general form, and his preliminary results depending on the work done until the conference.
