Summary :
⁣This was a retrospective case-control study performed in our hospital. We included all deliveries in women who had a history of bariatric surgery, operated in the same center between Jan 1, 2016 and Dec 31, 2019. This was the study group of fifty-two women. To investigate the effects of weight loss after bariatric surgery on pregnancy outcomes, we compared the study group with a control group matched for presurgery body mass index and did not undergo any bariatric procedure and delivered during the same period of time. This was the control group of 150 women. BMI was calculated using weight measured at the first prenatal visit. The main endpoints were gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), pregnancy-induced hypertension (PIH), birth weight of the babies, age of gestation at delivery and mode of delivery.
